Noise is often due to something not quite right in the assembly. A loose lid or tube.

The impeller is the only moving part in most filters that use power so that's the other place to check out.

Take the whole thing apart. Every piece it has. Then, check the impeller. Looks like a tiny fan or propellor that spins on a narrow metal shaft.

Make sure the shaft it spins around is snugly in place. Remove and check impeller, see if it has any defects in it. Chips or anything. Rinse out the 'well' it sits in. Then put it back. Reassemble the filter, add water, plug in and see if it still makes noise.

If yes, I'd take it back and ask to exchange it, since it is brand new.

It is the impeller but I don’t know what’s wrong, I bought it with a kit on amazon so I don’t know how to return just one product :/

I completely agree with fishfur. I've taken apart a lot of different filters when they have failed and made them work again.
Something could be caught in the impeller, or it isn't sitting correctly.
Take it apart and tinker a bit with it then try it again.

Another little thing the noise could be is vibration from the filter.
I'm not familiar that this particular filter, but if it does not have little rubber feet on the base, adding some stick on rubber feet could help.

Also, (if it's in an enclosed base) make sure none of the filter is touching the wooden base parts.

One of my wooden stands has doors. Those did vibrate making a noise until I put some stick-on felt around the door edges.

I'd email Amazon and ask. Kodi 17.6 download for mac. They're usually not bad with customer service. If there is a defect with the impeller, then they owe you another filter. Without being able to see it, hard to say what might be wrong exactly but there are only so many things that can be wrong with them.

The magnet can be beaten up and scratched enough that it affects the balance but that usually only happens with wear and tear.

It could have some internal defect that's affecting balance or one of the blades is off somehow. Either one will ruin them quickly, they must be symmetrical and balanced to work. Or there is a defect in the impeller well, so the shaft doesn't fit correctly and is moving when the impeller spins.
